The Vivo Neo plus is a significant step up from little brother the Neo. For an extra $50 or so you get a hand carved top plate (where most of the sound comes from) and an upgraded case. I stock this usually in a 3/4 size as it suits someone upgrading from a 1/2 instrument who’s been going for a year or so (or just starting out) is what I think might be Brisbane’s best value beginner instrument. It comes from the Vivo range of violins instruments which are designed to deliver exceptional value (I stock the Elite for 4/4 full size). It has quality fittings and woods with a hand selected and hand carved spruce top, maple back and sides, ebony running gear and a tailpiece with inbuilt adjusters for little fingers.
3/4 is a funny stage for violinist, theres is where after a few years of learning the joy of playing starts to manifest, so you need an instrument that sounds OK! This instrument comes with tell strings, long lasting and durable for first steps. When you are ready an upgrade to Tonica or Alphayue strings give this instrument the legs to further develop your tone and take you through to your full size instrument
At $300 the price is much more competitive than anything else on the market for the sound/quality/cost tradeoff for the abilities of a player in their early years, and isn’t that much more than a secondhand instrument. .
