Hidersine Violins and Hidersine Violin Review

Hidersine Violins are a well know European brand established in the UK in the 1800’s , they are  mostly made in China now…like everything else but have good quality control and by way of review I quite like their intermediate/advancing instruments. The  Reserve series of violins are lovely and feature the traditional oil finishes with the higher level instruments having antique look through multiple layers of different oils…they are quite striking(zomm in on images). These instruments are variously labeled HMV50, HWV100,  HWV400 advancing, Venezia and reserve.

These instruments don’t roll off a factory line but are hand made and selected from selected timbers. They feature ebony, spruce and maple of high quality.   I carry the Advancing(HWV50), but with inbuilt fine tuners and Alphayue strings for $760. Its a great step up instrument that will see most students through high school.

For the really serious player the Venezia is the real sweet spot. The Venezia Violin (HWV100) model comes in at $1200 and you get great bang for your buck with tone, projection and quality woods that will develop wonderfully over time.  For strings you’ll want Tonica’s or Dominants I recon (depending on your preferences)

Beyond that the Reserve (HWV400) for $2000 is a step up from that. Each instrument is hand finished and antiques and truly one of a kind. Evah Pirazzi strings make this really sing!
