Hidersine, maker of traditional violin and string instruments also offers a range of electric violins. These violins feature everything you would expect from a quality violin with ebony chinrest, fingerboard and pegs, together with a Wittner style fine adjuster, so they play and feel just like a regular violin.
The violin bodies themselves come in a range of shapes from a natural timber (albeit it in a funky shape) , a black outlined finish or an attractive Zebra wood finish. What sets these violins apart from many of the other electric violins on the market is it uses an under bridge pickup and has a semi resonant body.
Both of these features give the violin a more natural sound when amplified and a little more natural sound under the ear as well that many other electrics.
If you are looking to make a foray into the world of electric violins, these make a good candidate for he quality and the price point as well. With a built in preamplifier they are suitable to go straight to your headphones, or any guitar style amplifier or effects pedal directly.
Heres a review I have done of them recently.
