Close to the Ipswich, Springfield, and kinda close to Toowoomba and the Darling Downs Gold I see a lot of visitors for violin repairs and other string instrument repairs and violin sales too from these regions. Theres no need to go into town either, just park outside my violin workshop.
Based on the Southside of Brisbane I’m right on the gateway motorway and so a pretty handy (if you can call it that) easy drive for those coming from the West for violin and string instrument repairs (no need to go into town) . As its a bit of a drive, particularly from up on the range and further out West, what I try to do with my clients is if they have some shopping to do or are prepared to make a day of it, I try to schedule in enough time to do the repair before they head back (if its not too complex) . I am also flexible about seeing them out of hours as well . Sometimes I have even sent them home with glue clamps on their violins, which I ask them to post back. Other times I might post them back their instrument, or they have a friend pick it up for them. Whatever works I reckon.
