Growing up my families violins mostly came via Frank Williams at Victoria point. A retired minister he came to luithering later in life and was the goto guy on the Southside for violin repairs and secondhand violins. Indeed my favourite violin is a heavily repaired “German trade fiddle” from him (see my violins) and my sisters is a one of French heritage. I still meet people who remember him fondly. His passion was for inlay work and in particular work on building dulcimers. In time his business passed to his son Evan Williams, who today runs StringTech down logan way so its really nice to see generational traditions emerging in such a young country.

She now has a beautiful violin, bow, and chin rest with rosin. It is just above an entry level full sized 4/4 violin, and it has higher quality strings on it. It is gorgeous with a beautiful sound, and my daughter and I are so happy with our purchase. 🎻 Edit: We are back nine months later getting a string replaced, and Dan went through some basic techniques with my daughter, as we weren't able to secure a tutor where we lived. It just made her day, and she was so proud of her progress. She is so much more confident with holding the bow and everything. Dan is most certainly, the man! 10/10 would recommend!
